According to this whimsical origin story once there was a giant so lazy that he had to employ two dwarves to move his feet. Most of the time they were just sleeping in his shoes, feeling extremely bored until the time came for his annual visit to his grandmother whose giant cookies were the only thing worth getting up for. This, however, was hard work that never got repaid so one day the dwarves left their master… who had, in the meantime, forgotten everything he knew about the art of walking.
